Live a complete change of scenery in the nearby natural reserve of El Torcal: wander or hike amongst capricious limestone rocks shaping one of the most important karst landscapes in Europe. Later, explore the enchanting neighboring Antequera, which humbly hoards an extensive cultural sedimentation: prehistoric dolmens, Roman vestiges, a mighty Moorish citadel, numerous convents and churches, excelling amongst them the Royal Collegiate.

Discover with our expert guide the palatine city constructed by the Nasrid sultans during the 13th and 14th century, where you will contemplate the unique royal residences preserved in the whole Islamic world since the Middle Ages, and wander through a collection of historical gardens. As an optional complement, you shouldn’t miss the Albayzin ancient quarter which beautifully preserves its Moorish identity and the historical centre of Granada. The Royal Chapel is a must-see visit to discern, through jewels of art, the history of Spain during the decisive decades following the Christian conquest.

Enjoy a day gazing at the sea and treasures of art in Malaga. The city port founded by the Phoenicians showcases two different Moorish citadels perched on headlands, a remarkable Renaissance Cathedral, intriguing art galleries like the Picasso Museum, which reviews 80 years of creativity by the genius born in Malaga. We highly suggest to have lunch in one of our preferred fish restaurants on the beach.

Travel back in time, when Cordoba was the most prosperous metropolis of the West, over one thousand years ago under the Umayyad caliphate. The main witness of this golden age is the Great Mosque. The prayer hall is composed of a spectacular forest of more than one thousand columns of marble, jasper and granite, supporting overlapping arches. In the heart of the prayer hall stands up the vertical Cathedral, combining interesting works of the Renaissance and Baroque art. Outside the sacred space, the grace of Cordoba lives on in the labyrinth of the Judería (the old Jewish quarter), which safeguards a synagogue of the 14th century.

Relish the essence of Seville in this walking tour, accompanied by our expert guide, who will introduce you into the multicultural identity of the metropolis of the Guadalquivir river. Its Cathedral is the largest gothic building ever constructed, replete with works of art. It was built in the 15th century on the site of the ancient great mosque, which preserves the astonishing Giralda, once the lofty Almohad minaret (12th century).The Real Alcázar (Royal Palace) was the seat of power throughout ages and therefore displays in its collection of palaces, dwellings and gardens an extraordinary juxtaposition and intermixing of artistic traditions. The adjacent Santa Cruz neighbourhood, which partially sheltered the Jewish quarter, maintains a distinctive way of life in its labyrinth of passageways, peaceful squares and blossoming patios.

Private guided tour of Ronda. The Andalusian town has always captivated travelers, from the European Romantic writers of the 19th century to Ernest Hemingway and Orson Welles. Its famous bridge and white-washed houses hang on a vertiginous gorge and dominate green pastures. This most enchanting Andalusian town greets the visitor with its artistic balconies, historical mansions with blossoming patios and striking views (Mondragón Palace and the palace of the Moorish Kings). The Christian and Islamic legacies coexist in a labyrinth of winding streets, churches, old Mosques and remarkably preserved Arab baths – all enclosed by a mighty 12th century wall. The prestigious bullring in Ronda, one of the oldest in Spain, is also a must-see.

Enjoy a day (or some days) of rest in the sublime setting of Barceló La Bobadilla in Loja. The surrounding region offers plenty of optional excursions on inland trails, to discover the innumerous small Jewels of the Andalusian countryside, like Montefrío, selected as worldwide top ten in best panoramic views. You can also get deep into the Sephardic culture in Lucena, once called the “Pearl of Sepharad” because the city was almost completely Jewish.

Lodged for some days in one of the finest hotels or resorts of this centre of luxury tourism in Spain, you can also discover and Mijas and make an escapade to Jerez to admire the Andalusian pure bread horses and taste the sherries in a traditional cellar.
